On-Site Operator Training
Overhead Crane & Hoist Operator Training
At your facility. On your equipment.
Competent operators are required by law. We come to your site and train your team on the cranes and hoists they actually operate — practical training on real equipment, not a classroom seminar.
Competent Operators. Required by Law.
Your crane is inspected. Are your operators trained?
Ontario's workplace safety rules are clear: lifting equipment cannot simply be operated by anyone on the floor. The law requires a competent person at the controls — and puts the duty to train squarely on the employer.

Session Details
*Typical session: 4–6 hours. Additional practical training or assessment time may be required depending on experience, class size and equipment.
What Your Team Will Learn
Training covers the knowledge and hands-on skills an operator needs to work competently at the controls:
- Legal duties and the competent-person requirement under Ontario regulations
- Pre-operational inspections and daily equipment checks
- Safe operating practices for overhead cranes and hoists
- Load handling, rigging awareness and capacity limits
- Standard hand signals and communication during lifts
- Recognizing hazards, deficiencies and when to stop the lift
Who This Training Is For
New operators who need instruction before working unsupervised, experienced operators who have never had formal training, supervisors and health and safety coordinators responsible for compliance, and whole crews that operate overhead cranes, hoists or other industrial lifting devices. If your team operates a lifting device and cannot show competent-person training on file, this session closes that gap.
Certificates are issued following successful written and practical assessments. Training records support your compliance efforts, and employers remain responsible for operator competence and supervision.
